Flannels are not fine. Dan hates them. They represent all the things he doesn't want marriage to be. And flannel pajamas would be cause for separate bedrooms. But I hate those slimy silky things women in magazines model. No way do they sleep in them-they're cold, the bottoms creep up and the tops slide down up around your waist and you feel really silly when you wake up. It's like waking up naked with a silk inner tube around your middle. We finally found a compromise--there are some nice gowns--Lanz of Salzburg makes some and I'm sure many others- that are slinky on the outside but have a flannelly inside. Dan can pretend I'm being sexy and I sleep modestly and warmly. EVeryone's happy.
