COUNTDOWN TO THE MILLENNIUM

HEAD START ON NEW YEAR'S

Gruder is rolling in money because of 2000. He looked at Y2K not as a computer problem but as a business opportunity. His Alydaar Software is fixing computer systems for major corporations the world over. Two measly digits, left out of early systems by programmers short on costly computer memory, have turned into a profitable venture.
Two years ago, Alydaar had $37,000 in sales. For 1998, it's close to $35 million. This year, Gruder is banking on hitting $50 million.
You might think New Year's Eve will be nerve-racking. Will Alydaar's software save his clients? Will Gruder have a company once 2000 comes and goes? Will there be an end time for Y2K mechanics?
He's not going to fret next New Year's Eve. But he'll be close to a phone.

''I'm going to have a private party with a band, have a good time -- and check my voice mail,'' Gruder said calmly.

Typical example of alyd hype ; short on facts, long on BS. But how many times can you go to the well with bullshit,,the street is getting tired of a co. that behaves like a bunch of used car salesmen. My apologies to used car salesmen .
