J-BIRD RECORDS AND CDNOW ENTER CUSTOM CD LICENSE AGREEMENT
WILTON, Conn., Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- J-Bird Records (OTC Bulletin
Board: JBRD), the music industry's first web-based record label,
announced a licensing agreement with CDnow (Nasdaq: CDNW), the
Internet's number one music store, making J-Bird's catalog of over 250
artists available for custom CDs. Under the agreement, consumers making
custom CDs at CDnow's Custom Shop (cdnow.com) will be able to select
their favorite songs by J-Bird artists, along with songs licensed from
other record labels.
J-Bird is the home of multi-platinum recording artists, The Guess Who
and Billy Squier, world-renowned vocal group Rockapella, former Rusted
Root vocalist Jenn Wertz, hitmaker Andrew Gold, alternative rockers
Impulse Ride and hip hop group A.I.F. J-Bird's catalog roster is
expected to be available for custom CDs at CDnow in early 1999.

"CDnow's Custom Shop presents us with an incredible vehicle to showcase
to the music industry and to consumers worldwide the tremendous talent
on the J-Bird roster," said Darren Nowicki, Director of A&R/Artist
Development for J-Bird Records.

"J-Bird and CDnow share a deep commitment to the Web as a place to sell
catalog, to promote emerging artists, and to develop new musical groups.
By combining J-Bird's catalog and CDnow's custom CD technology, we move
closer to our common vision," commented CDnow Director of Digital Media
Ted Hooban.

About J-Bird
J-Bird Records was launched as the music industry's first WWW
recording label and was founded by Jay Barbieri in October 1996. Since
then, the label has gone public and has seen its catalogue swell to

represented in more than 50,000 retail accounts through the Navarre
Corporation (Nasdaq: NAVR), the industry's leading distributor of
independent record labels across the country.
