Laugh! I had missed this. AVNT making hay of this settlement conference in a press release is a complete joke. Ordering a settlement conference in Patent/Trade Secret disputes is standard procedure for such cases. It happens 100% of the time regardless of the chances of success. As you correctly point out there is no obligation whatsoever on the parties to actually reach a settlement, and IMHO the chances of a settlement being reached are exactly zero. CDN wants nothing less than to destroy AVNT, and their chances of doing just that in court are fairly good. -Ritz
