Franklin Receives Another Million-Dollar Order
Tempest DVG Deployment Continues
WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 5, 1999--Franklin Telecom (OTC BB:FTEL - news) Tuesday announced that it has received a new order of $1.3 million for Tempest Data Voice Gateway Systems.

The order includes Tempest DVGs, installation and ongoing maintenance for the Tempest Systems. The order was placed by an established California-based customer that is deploying a national Voice over IP network. For competitive reasons, the customer does not wish to be identified.

Peter Buswell, Franklin's President and COO, stated: ''We have been working closely with this customer for some time and feel a proprietary pride as their Tempest-based network expands. This order expresses their continuing confidence in and commitment to our product.''

Tom Russell, Franklin's CFO, added: ''We have already shipped many units from the million-dollar order announced last month. The previous $1 million order and this $1.3 million order are expected to both be completed during the current quarter ending March 31. We are pleased to see hardware sales ramping up.''

The primary business of Franklin Telecom, founded in 1981, is the design and manufacturing of communications devices, high-speed LAN, WAN, Telco and software. Franklin customers have installed more than 100,000 nodes worldwide. Franklin's Internet subsidiary FNET provides Voice over Internet Protocol global Telco services.
