MythMan, NEM does not do much forward sales as compared with PDG which
does sell more of its forward gold production in the futures market.
that give NEM more leverage to move higher when gold rises. I think
NEM received an extra push on the move to 30 due to their announcement of the purchase of Newmont Gold (NGC), investors either got excited about the purchase being accretive or somehow "synergistic"

That was my take on Nem's move to 30.

US $ weakness and backup in rates helping to firm the gold stocks
in past few days. (IMO)

John
