Wouldn't you think that Rubin wants the dollar to go lower now to help our exports? and trade deficit? Also isn't military spending helpful to keep the economy afloat in this bubble with wealth from the stock market leading the charge.. talk about productivity..I just bought a compaq computer and took the 100 dollar rebate if I signed up for GTE's trial period..well..I spent almost two hours trying to get thru to a person at GTE..I got one of those voice menus..productivity?..everytime except the last I tried to get a real person it disconnected..so it saved GTE(although it does have a good voice menu) but definitely not me and how many others.. they don't seem to have unlimited usage..wonder how many people thru inertia will keep the service..I have one if you pay two years upfront is only 10 or 11 dollars amonth..unlimited..GTE could cost a lot more a month..probably double or even more if you say on more than 100 hours a month..just another example of productivity from the computer age.. I wonder if corporate america is counting on people's ignorance or fear of hi tech.. ps now with windows 98..my computer has crashed about seven times.. just freezes..ain't technology wonderful.. ps also learned if I do a trial period of AOL..AOL will wipe out all the other dialup network settings..haven't tried it and don't know if it is true..but it would seem that competition is incredibly rampant.. wonder if true..what government plans to do about all these corporate methods..(wonder if they learned from Gates?)
