I doubt it.
By 2001 when RDRAM will have a 60% market share, the glitz will be gone for the manufacturers, they will be back to cutting each others and bleeding to death again. In the mean time Geof Tate will be working overtime stacking up the revenues

By 2001 manufacturers will be (or near) 0,13 micron process which will be another 52% more chips per wafer. This will surely guarantee a blood bath
