From Herb Greenberg's column today: (Zeev-This issue is just chock full of coincidences?)

Do fundamentals matter? Rick Eckenrodt, who runs the Lindner Utility fund
(down 8% last year), thinks they do. Otherwise he wouldn't have owned such
winners as WorldCom (WCOM:Nasdaq) or El Paso Electric (EE:AMEX). Or he
wouldn't be the owner of Harken Energy (HEC:AMEX), which has gone from
around 6 to 2. With more than a buck per share in cash, and with its
domestic gas biz valued at another $1.50 per share, he doesn't see how he
can lose. "And that's giving no credit to one and a half million acres of
leases" on wells in Colombia, where Harken is sitting atop what some
geologists say may be a gas field as big as the oil gusher in Alaska's
North Slope.

Yet when Eckenrodt at holiday parties was asked which stocks he liked, and
he mentioned Harken, he got the distinct impression people would have
preferred talking to an insurance salesman. (What, no undiscovered Internet
stocks?)
