$400 computers Chips on the motherboard can be had for cheap...definitely not where we want to go. But this is just what the future holds for CREAF and soon... Again WHY would someone buy a $150 SBL and put it in a $400 computer??? For that matter why would anyone open a $400 box... hell at that price just junk it and buy a new faster $350 computer. Mid and low end multimedia chips have NO future anymore... its over. High end will have lower margins and the mid end chip will be just fine for all but the very high end power users... I am seeing this NOW with the $1000 computers all my NON tech friends/family don't care about the high end and love that CHEAP computer for Xmas. If this group about 85% of ALL the people I know who own or just bought a computer think this way, think about how happy a $400 computer will make um and that cheap o computer will be 2-3 times as fast... what more can one ask for? Email and Word can only go so fast, at some point the NON tech person dosn't care and CAN'T go any faster then NOW. ALL the people this Xmas that asked for my help in buying a computer could care less about 4 speaker sound (SBL)... and ALL bought a cheap sound card that was built with it. Note ALL were HAPPY with the sound calling it the best sound in any computer they owned yet. It was the new $30 speakers(that came with the computer) that set it apart from last years computer all were NOt from CREAF. RIO hot... buy the time CREAF is in this area we will have sony and 100 other Cos. to fight with. This is CREAF and it will DIE a SLOW low margin death. Adam-

I don't 99 will see a re-run. Look for CREAF to go down not up. What future does it really have? DVD... not much money in this since the only thing CREAF has is the dxr2 card and ALL cpus NOW can do this in software. DVD is a cheap addon soon. dxr2 card is DOA soon. Sound... High end maybe for the year but with chips running @1000mhz in 2000 what will most people do with the speed??? I'm betting if 300mhz is fast for most 1000mhz w/sound from the CPU will be HOT. Hell the chip set in a few months can run all basic sound forget about the cpu. Sound is DOA... SBL will be a low cash card soon. 5.1 speaker sound will be CHEAP soon. Video... same thing 2d is free 3d is the money but with cards at $80-150 how much life can be in this area... again that 1000mhz CPU will just sit doing NOTHING for most people. Not much growth if any again DOA for a higher stock price speakers... creaf thinks growth is to cut the price of speaker and sell more. only thing is you get NO GROWTH... I see CREAF as doing the same in 99 as it did in 97 and 98... nothing. DOA for growth in 99. MP3 player and SIMS vapor ware... All I can say is CREAF didn't get this out for Xmas and if it makes it for the next one good... only thing is so will everone else... Growth is DOA. If we see it creaf will make a low end ver. and again have NO growth, thats what creaf does best no growth. Anything else creaf has going for it I'd love to hear... I'll bet you CREAF blows it : ) or at best it will sell well but be a no growth product with little cash made from it. This is what the history tells us CREAF is good at... treading water. Adam-
