John: Re: <<Would it be better to use index or stock in options trade.>> I use the index as a guide...CHIR up a 1/4 and IMNX UP 10, so you need to look at the individual stock as well, imho.

Generaly speaking, bio's took some profit taking and that is good. Still got plenty of time to recover prior to earnings announcement (1/18. I believe).

Jumped in and bought some JAN 50 calls -- but a bit too early in day.
I usually don't buy near term calls but a good trade with no premium tempted me...now we'll see.

I think that this is the first day in weeks that we've gotten such a good pull back...bio's a little over bought...need the rest...the NAZ bothers me, though, and needs to cool off. While a general sell off may dampen the bio's, I notice that the small and mid-caps were up nicely today; i.e., semi LSI and DD makers WDC and SEG amongst a few. I think the biotech sector will be quiet for a day or two and then push higher prior to earnings release dates.

Good luck all,

FNS

John R. That stuff is much too sophisticated for me. The only time I do anything like that, is if the market shows serious internal weakness while moving up. Even then, you need a lot of luck to get it right. Bill
