Yeah, I heard about the spinoff too.

Perhaps someday the company might consider spin off its online unit to the public, just like Barnes&Noble and Delia.com in Spring 1999.

>> ...and not get caught up in the Internet hype.

Amen. Now that was the most intelligent post on this board in some time. Why has no one asked another obvious question: what have their other websites produced to date? The Net angle is an interesting one, and may well prove profitable, but anyone who thinks that this e-commerce embrace is going to get this company pregnant any time soon is either engaging in some heavy wishful thinking, or is simply pumping hype. Other considerations: the pending impact of La Nina (sp?) on the Amazon basin. Madera is still a long-term story. Flippers, get your kicks now. You'll be off looking for other stocks to "harvest" before too long.

All in IMHO, of course. ggg. Was tempted to bail, but still long WOOD.

Ken

Jeff: To find out how the 'MAJOR' sites do their advertising simply do a 'reverse search' on Alta Vista...and you can find where ALL of the major sites or even 'smaller' sites are doing their advertising. Just go to Alta Vista and read through the directions. For instance, you can see any place that SI is advertising on...etc. Some of these are only 'links' others are FULL 'blown' banners on Yahoo etc. Millions of people see these...and the 'hits' are VERY high! Think of how many banners you have 'clicked' on in the last year...

Jeff, The developer which is designing the Madera web site will register this site with 50+ browsers. If you go to search and key in
1.Rainforest Products
2. MaderaIntl
3. Brazil Products
4. and many other key words which will be registered with the many browsers.

You should be able to bring up the madera site. It will take several weeks to get key Madera shopping words registered. Each day Madera will get more hits as the word become registered.

Madera can rent internet space also , Yahoo or AOL which and 15+ mil visits per day
