On a RAS meter, 1 to 10, about a 5 maybe, with what Big Blue and clones do today getting a 10.

Replace MVS systems, not until Merced/McKinley, but just as much for processing power and I/O as RAS. Need 64 bit machines to stand a chance. Hey, even Sun was laughing at an availability (the A in RAS) statement HP made about one of their NT servers about five months ago. Of course, you've got McNealy here too. I guess you have to meet with some customers requiring the highest RAS requirements to appreciate what I'm talking about. They'd sacrifice their first born male child for a bomb proof system. I realize that isn't a PC statement nowadays.
