>>Yo, it was Clinton's opponents that used "family values" and "character does matter" as weapons against him!

Yo, Clinton embraced them in 1996 and actually had the hubris to run on them! Where were you?

Out to lunch, as always.

>>As for Leno and Letterman, it is not just Clinton, but it's also Tripp, Starr, Livingston, Gingrich, Hyde, Buchanan, Limbaugh et. al. that provide fodder to last night after night.

It's all Clinton all the time when it comes to being the butt of jokes. His gift to American culture:

Jay Leno, in a routine extensively recounted
yesterday in the Hotline, the daily summary of political
reporting widely read by Washington editors and reporters,
turned the story into an satiric monologue about a
make-believe White House press briefing:

"Today the White House said [Bobbie Ann Williams] must
have just sat on Monica's dress. ... That's what happened,"
Jay
Leno said. "I mean, who do you believe, a hooker or President
Clinton? For most Americans, that's a tough one. ...
Imagine if
President Clinton does have an illegitimate son. I didn't even
know he played in the NBA. ... Only President Clinton could
distract people from a sex scandal with another sex scandal. ...

Of course, the White House is still trying to put a positive spin
on the whole thing. Like today the White House said, 'Hey, at
least he didn't have oral sex with that woman.'...
Despite all of
this, according to the latest Gallup poll, President Clinton is still
the most admired man in America. ... You can see why guys
admire Clinton. You have sex on the job, you tell lies, you
cheat on the wife and you get away with it. Most guys can only
dream about this."
