The market action of MSFT clearly indicates that expectations are either that MSFT will win the litigation or that the end result of the trial will be terms that won't interfere with MSFT's prospects. I have no idea which of these views predominate. If the former is the case, and MSFT loses in the initial case, the market will push the price down. Over the long term I share your opinion about the impact of the trial. My best guess in the shorter run is that MSFT will lose the first case but stands a better chance on appeal.
I'm hanging on to my biggest holding, CSCO, for the long run. I may even buy some MSFT tomorrow.
