Ed, WOW -- You are more bullish than me!! It is nice know that. Hoping your predictions are right. As a general rule -- people usually would predict lower prices into the future. Well they were up 100 percent in 1998 -- why can the stock not go up 100% in 1999 especially since there is an e commerce push along with the Windows2000 announcement coming up. Win2000 release should really do a number on this stock -- an explosive move.

The only thing i had difficulty understanding was the employee stock options. My understanding is that these options will also split as the stock splits.

You may a point about new issue of options to existing and new employees. If for example MSFT issues options to an employee for 100 shares -- maybe they will still issue for only 100 after split. Their employees are probably not that bright in finances anyways---maybe just computer nerds. I will admit I don't know much about how their employee stock options work out. I am just guessing.

ed,

Some people never learned. They thought they would save pennies, but always missed dollars. No one can time the market with success on a sustained basis, period.

The profit one failed to make (when he/she could have made) should be looked upon as a true LOSS.
