Has anyone considered the possibility that AMZN is estimating $250
Mil in sales (contrary to the $300-$400 Mil whispers)so that they can
either have an upside surprise at the actual announcement, or so they
can pad the next quarter's numbers, as MSFT and some other companies
are rumored to do? I think that the last thing that this co. wants
is to show a sequential decline in sales, and there are certainly
ways around that.

Zach,

I clearly do not know nor thought about it until you mentioned it. I am not sure it would be easy to do since each sale should be booked as it is made. It is not like a contract that MSFT or CSCO may have. On the other side of the coin, I would put nothing past the management of AMZN. Their filings and bookkeeping is the most misleading I have ever seen of a company that I follow. KTEL is a close second in that area.

Glenn

Did you ever consider that maybe Amazon is estimating 250mil in sales because that is how much they sold?
Good grief!
I'm beginning to think that if AMZN issued a press release that declared bankruptcy tomarrow the stock would continue up as speculators guess that the move would allow the company to post a much larger than expected decrease in earnings next quarter...
