Daniel, What about when the company issues new options to its employees? Could there be a trick to this -- MSFT may just be issueing a certain number of options no matter what the value of the stock. I guess they would be fooling their existing employees. It is hard to believe that by splitting the burden on the company is reduced --it does not seem logical although i don't know the mechanics of how it works. It may be possible with new issues of options to new employees. (maybe)

I agree with the existing options -- that is they split as well.

Someone had posted that MSFT is trying to reduce the stock options being issued. Maybe someone who works there can explain how this incentive is structured at the company.
