This is one of the reasons I was hoping someone knew something about the company making the recommendation.

Besides viewing an initial recommendation as basically a 'Sell,' another way to look at it, if the brokerage is a big-nothing [which I don't know if this one is], coming out with a 'Hold' gets their name out even if they are unwilling to be commital. In this case, 'Hold' is a big nothing.
