That is because most businesses make a profit (or at least try to) on their sales.

Also read in the news release, they got over 1 million

new customers over the holidays. Takes most companies

20 years to get a million customers, if they ever manage

to get that much.

AMZN misleads here too. They tally customers from day one that ever ordered from AMZN. I am not stating that a million new customers is not good nor incorrect. I am just stating that each quarter they give a number of customer count but they never remove an inactive customer. Many of these people are likely dead now and will not buy again.
