J O'N,

Obviously you haven't sold puts before. Most responsible brokerage firms would not allow clients this privilege unless she/he has a proven track record and ample resources to support this strategy. Discount dime-trading houses are a different story.

In short, put-selling entails a much higher level of risk than trading stocks or the buying/writing of calls--I wouldn't call it a piece of cake by any stretch of imagination. Ask a legit broker and he will tell you.
