Sirco Announces WebQuill's Plans for 48 Virtual
State Malls

STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 5, 1999--Sirco International Corp. (NASDAQ: SIRC - news) announced
today that its wholly owned Internet subsidiary, WebQuill Internet Services, has reserved domain names for 48 State specific
virtual malls.

Each planned site will target small businesses in a specific State and use the same domain template of www.xx-search.com,
such as www.ct-search.com for Connecticut. WebQuill intends to market these sites in conjunction with its affiliated CLEC
companies, Essex Communications and Access One Communications. The three entities currently provide services to
approximately 10,000 small business customers.

Henry Azer, president of WebQuill stated, ''The virtual malls will provide our customers with a low cost entry point into the
world of E-Commerce. For as little as $24.95 a month, and no up front investment, a small business owner will receive three
professionally designed Web pages, free e-mail and a well defined upgrade path to our higher end services such as our
E-Complete with its fully integrated fulfillment service.''

Azer continued, ''We were fortunate to have been able to reserve 48 States with the same domain format. This uniformity will
facilitate our promotion of the sites to Internet users.''

Ken Baritz, chairman and CEO of Access One added, ''We intend to aggressively market these virtual malls to our base of
small business customers. Through the bundling of Web Hosting, Internet Access, Local and Long Distance
Telecommunications services, we can now offer our customers a complete suite of communications services.''

WebQuill Internet Services Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Sirco International Corp., provides Web design, Web hosting,
E-Commerce development and dial-up and dedicated Internet access to small, medium and large businesses.

Access One Communications, which first began selling local telephone services in 1996, is a Florida based competitive local
exchange carrier which provides an integrated suite of telecommunications products to small and medium sized businesses in the
southeastern United States.

Sirco International Corp. is a diversified publicly traded company with operations organized into two divisions. Sirco's
telecommunications division focuses on developing integrated telephone service in the competitive local exchange carrier
industry. Sirco's travel division designs, imports and markets luggage, sport bags, backpacks and children's bags and related
