far more compatible with European digital systems though>>

Mike:

I'm sure Craig has his bases covered on this.

There are an unlimited number, types and sizes of tar pits and brushes that the CDMA engineers have tried used against the Nextel camp.

I don't think Nextel is a TDMA story. It's the Internet stupid - Nextel has the only wireless network that mirrors the internet - DC, which will eventually be national in scope. It's about the usefullness of the end product. Craig has Teledesic that will more than cover any local capacity issues as far as data transmissions are concerned going forward. How many CDMA-based cos. have this covered.

As for DC, let's see how quickly CDMA can come up with an equivalent.

I've heard the same thing about TDMA to CDMA conversions - primarily from folks I know over at Seimens who are very interested in this debate. They think TDMA conversions in Europe will go smoothly.

Nextel's 800-850 Mhz frequency is the only wild card.

O great CDMA engineer....can you enlighten us.
