Paul fought Gnostics???? LOL - The Apostle Paul was never an Apostle but made one 200 years after his death because he fought Christianity and was destroying it. A gnostic's knowledge comes from an inner mystical revelation. Even your bibles description of his little revelation on the road to Damascus was a perfect example of mysticism.
"I met a man in Christos whether in the first or third heaven I cannot tell." The Romans retold the story to fit their created religion of Jesus as an "historical" Christos.

Paul was definitely a recognized Gnostic well versed in the Gnostic teachings. He never met Jesus and had no use for Peter and his false Roman teaching.
