I think NXTL could make a new high by the end of February. Today's volume was 3x of daily volume. There were big blocks going through all day.

NXTL appears to be an attractive play with PCS. The ATI and Bell Atlantic deal may bring about more consolidation/merger deals within this industry.

Jozef,

Because Nextel's nationwide spectrum is all 800
Mghz., they are a huge acquisition target. The
power of an all-digital 800 Mghz. footprint is
just unbelievable, totally underestimated. Just
look at the prices being offered for ATI which
is, for sure, a more mature company than NXTL, but
much of it is alalog 800 Mghz. and much is 1900
Mghz., which requires dual mode phones that aren't
always "private". 1900 Mghz. will require a hell
of a lot more towers, very low power phone wattage,
not to mention no Direct Connect. And even if you
don't use the Direct Connect, it's sure nice to have
that option!
