elf, good OFF TOPIC post. so now because he is a liar,he will "send our men and women off somelace to start bombing a foreign country to redirect public attention for his own personal gain" Please, do you think he has this total power ????? Yes, Absolutely. The PRESIDENT ALONE now has the power to, in effect, "almost declare WAR" without Congressional approval. Several Adminitrations back this new power was granted, de facto to the White House - over Congress' objections. In a fast paced world SPEED is sometimes necessary and going into a congressional debate over bombing aspirn factories and a few innocent families nearby would, if bin Ladin was there, been enough time for him to escape, FOR EXAMPLE. I believe that we must vest this absolute power to the man in the White House. This is the man with his hand on "the Red Button." It is a POWERFUL position, a NEEDED power for our President. At least with Mr. "environment first" Gore we can be assured that there'd be no bombings which would destroy and kill everytime a scandal needs averting.
