Roger m <<Is the coming split a 2-1 or the 3-1 type?>>

Roger: Historically, PFE splits 2-1 around the 80 level. However, due to last year's volatility surrounding Viagra and the general market, PFE passed on another split.

At today's price of 126, I would expect a 3-1 split ....which would bring PFE down to around 42. Since there are not enough authorized shares to accommodate a tripling of outstanding shares, you can expect the PFE Board to request a shareholders' vote on additional shares in this March's annual report/proxy mailing. Based on the 1997 split, the Board will probably announce their split intentions around January 21, 1999 ......as part of PFE's 150th anniversary celebration.

Mark it down: I place the probability of a split announcement at 97%.... with a 75% probability of a 3-1 split and a 25% probability of a 2-1 split.
