Thanks Marc for the update on Laurent Gharda, VP Corporate Marketing, as the new IR/PR person.

I am not expecting an upside surprise this quarter, although as I wrote here recently, it could happen. What I am expecting is the very last of the write-offs, ($1.9 million for the merger and restructuring expenses), and any remaining junk that may be laying around to be incorporated. The key, in my opinion, to the earnings release on Jan. 19 will be the conference call and Jack's forward looking statements. As each quarter unfolds, over the remainder of the year, we should see reduced R & D expenses as a percent of revenues, increased revenues, and increased GP margins. This should result in increased profitability and hopefully Jack will confirm this on the call.

About a month ago I asked Jack what PTEC was doing to give its solution to Y2K greater exposure. At the same time I asked him to spell out more clearly the potential magnitude of increased revenues from the proliferation of "intelligent terminals" resulting from the growth in lower cost PCs and the expansion of the Internet. I will ask Jack a follow-up question on this subject during the conference call.
Regards,
Jules
