As you might guess, I've been trying to account for NN's strength. I believe there are several possibilities.

1) MSDW technology conference in Arizona. While NN is not presenting, companies like LU, NT, TLAB, and WCOM are and according to my friend at MSDW, the growth in the network has been a major topic.

2) Mid-quarter reviews by several brokerage houses with comments that the quarter is on track and the possibility of contract announcements with next generation and standard carriers within the next few weeks.

3) Increased understanding of the strength of NN's ATM products versus ASND's, specifically in circuit emulation over ATM.

4) Power of Giulio Gianturco in his postion as EVP NSA:
prodweb.newbridge.com

5) M&A scuttlebutt.

6) DOD validation of NN's quality.

7) And last but not least, the possibility of G1 announcement.

There may be other reasons that I've missed.
