And people wonder why Saddam accused the inspectors and Butler in particular of being American agents? At the very least they are complicit in US machinations. The crass naivety of the US foreign policy in the area is strange. If they succeed in destabilising Iraq, first externally by making it defenceless, and then internally by meddling in the internal politics of a sovereign nation, it will result in a power vacuum in the Gulf.
