Momentum brings them out

Its like in the movies, gold has just been struck, the nuggets have been poured out on the counter at the bar, someone in the tense crowd yells out "let's have a drink" --- something that he senses has the crowds favor. In this case it is momentum that has been struck and the drink for sale is any available internet/tech stock. The guy near the door is yelling "there is still some cheap liquor to buy over here, come-on in boys and have yourself a drink."

Later comes the hang-over and the empty pockets and the realization that the only one guaranteed to make any money is the guy that owns the bar. Some people are just left with the hangover. Some people decide that buying stocks just isn't for them---until the next time they can be brought in to buy at the top.

With the internet you can have an enormous crowd. And if you are selling momentum then certainly bubbles are fun.
