A little air from the takeover balloon escaping. Briefing: Tellabs Inc. (TLAB) 73 1/2 -5 5/16: CS First Boston maintains "strong buy" rating on telecommunications equipment manufacturer despite yesterday's 20% price jump; believes that no material new information emerged yesterday that accounts for the price run-up, although it seems to have been triggered by takeover speculation; gives low probability to a near-term take out of company; everything else on track, but stock appears frothy..... frothy, you bet.
