I'd guess that this is the 'pump' before the 'dump'. It wouldn't surprise me to see a press release or two, and maybe some 'financial engineering' on the earnings. Unless I'm mistaken, after this earnings report will be the first time that insiders (officers, directors) will be able to sell the stock. The locks came off in December, but since that is the last month of the quarter, the insiders still couldn't sell..... With Y2K disrupting Enterprise software sales (witness recent woes of SAP, Baan, Peoplesoft, etc), and the looming spector of Microsoft (Plato), if I were an insider I'd be selling big time on about Jan 26....
