AOL has much more than revenue from subscriptions.

Just as tv does not charge you the viewer...for tv...it makes it's revenues from the commercials...

AOL does even better..in that...it charges 'content providers" and "advertisers" plus hits the subscibers for a fee...

add to that...."shopping" and getting a cut of services hawked to subscribers....phone servie, preview travel, netmarket.com...etc...

and you have a MONEY MACHINE....

aol is no way "tapped out" as it becomes more "mass market" and "global"...

Even 'oldies" like me (techies)...(vs newbies) have come back to AOL as a content provider even though we use the Internet separately....since the fee if you have an ISP is just $9.95 or so...
when grandmas sign on....and find the shopping cool...you know you have a winner...and a portion of that sell to grandma, her eyeballs as she finds that product, and her subscriber fee...all go to US those happy shareholders....YUMMY!
