np. we think it makes sense from a business perspective, hopefully so does Rambus management.

Alan/Mile: MOT CPU's have actually been suprior to Intel's in many ways. They have not only been used by Apple but also by most mini and mainframe manufacturers (I remember selling NCR minitowers with 512K memory, 40MB HDD and Motorola CPU).
The problem for Apple and MOT is that WINTEL is where the volume market is at which in turn means it's where most software development takes place (if you develop software you'd prefer to develop software for the largest market).
BETA was actually better than VHS but VHS had the market hands down. Rambus also has the market hands down when you look at what makes a leader: infrastructure and insdustry alliances!

When Apple moves to WINTEL and PC's move to RDRAM my bet is that MOT must move to Rambus-compatibility also. The same with SUN by the way.

We're sitting on a rocket and it has bearly started to lift off the ground!
