Top value manager has AOL as a top holding.

William Miller, Legg Mason Trust Value Fund, has AOL and DELL as his top two holdings.

He emphasized that AOL is a value play by forecasting, as opposed to using traditional fundamental analysis.

He's being interviewed on CNBC for winning Morningstar's Domestic Equity Fund Manager honors for '98.

I could laugh. AOL as a value play? The top fund manager in the country (by Morningstar's standards) says so.

I'm long AOL, but never considered it a value play in terms of short-term safety. The long-term growth and value, however, are undeniable.
