What a lot of people don't realize is how vunerable the economy
is. When buying stops, i.e. new trucks, TVs, machinery or
whatever, the economy stops. The main factors controlling this
demand are the level of confidence and the level of need. When
these cycles converge at the bottom, the profits stop and the
layoffs begin. Since the average person can't fathom this or
anything further out than 2 weeks, the implosion is always
loud and gross.

10k on the Dow is not in the cards just yet. In my opinion, now is the time to bet the farm on the short side. That is what I am doing. This market is way overdone.

larry...

>>DOW 10 k within a month. <<

Is the DOW the thing to watch or the Nasdaq Composite. The "blowoff" action seems to be more centered in the NAZ although the DOW is also going crazy. I am just curios however as to which one you think is a better indicator nowadays.

I would expect 2500 there before we see 10K on the DOW. That would be about an 8% increase for the NAZ vs. 5% for the DOW.

With that said, we may see 8000 and 2000 before 10,000 and/or 2500. My betting is that 10K and or 2500 will come first.

I found a stock which I have been profitable on before to short. lhsg. It has strong resistance above 55 and is trading near the top of its trading range at 57 ish. It looks like the target price will once again be in the 40's and maybe lower as this one is overvalued. I have a couple of put contracts since the short interest is high.

Also, I am looking at retailors. In particular bby and a few others. Vod also looks shortable as it is having trouble holding its gains.

I am still mostly long and based on the market internals will stay that way as they are bullish.

just my 2 cents. good luck
