OFF TOPIC:

Fair enough Sir. I am just always interested if someone is looking from the short side, or the long when I consider their thoughts about a company.I suspect a few of the posters here may be playing the short side, and if so would like to consider their possible bias. If you say you are long, I hope your future contains a big capital gain. And yes, I am long and I am not happy with the float size. And yes, I have made a profit with LGND, and plan to make more. But boy, I wish I would have been one of those stupid people who went long on AMZN when it was around $50 :- )!

Greg

There are others out there like you - I too have occasionally been labelled a nay-sayer, as I expressed my displeasure with the drumbeat of accenting (and sometimes spinning IMHO) the positive aspects of the company by the "yea-sayers". I did and do not need to know when an uptick occurred in the stock, while the downticks were mostly ignored. Most of this has ceased, and the LGND thread is a much more civilized place.
I am also long LGND (since 2/12/98), and am happy there are "nay-sayers" such as you that provide needed balance to this thread.
Best,
Wallace
I am, as well, back to mostly lurk mode.

<< Just another example of Lgnd doing what they do best(Screwing the shareholder) >>

Would you mind adding that as your favorite quote in your SI profile?

Hey! Now that you have been designated the thread's best loved naysayer, I've got some info for you.

From the 1998 Annual Report:

"Ligand could begin marketing Panretin gel, our first product, as early as late 1998 or early 1999"

"In addition, and NDA is planned for Panretin Capsules in KS in 1999."

"Ligand is also conducting three pivotal trials with Targretin in CTCL; one Phase III trial with Targetin Gel and two phase II/III trials with Targretin Capsules. An interim analysis of the results of the oral trials was positive. If final trial reslts are also positive we expect to file an NDA for each of these drugs in the second half of 1998 or early 1999".

<================================================================>

I've been complaining of lack of info. I guess I should do more reading, because the important info was printed a year ago. They are right on schedule, and have had positive interim results with Targretin.

Greg made a good point about enjoying getting screwed as a shareholder. If you are a shareholder, but don't like to post any positive info on the stock that you own, and only like to knock the stock, one has to wonder.

Have you added to your position in LGND, during the bleak down days of 1998?
