Without a doubt Dow 10k is coming sometime. I am talking about the immediate future. Check back with me in a few days. Between now and then , I will make some money.

Larry.. I disagree, while I agree that INTC, MSFT, SUNW, EMC, YHOO!, CSCO, LU, AOL, DELL will report blowout earnings or revenues. I belive this will be the excuse to sell (sell the news). Expectations right now are way too high. Leaving the longs wondering what the hell happened, news was great etc etc why the drop....

larry, you are exactly right. This does look like a blow-off top wave. I would not be surprised to see us hit 11000 on the dow and far far higher on the Nasdaq in the next 6 weeks. After earnings reports are over in mid Feb is another story and that is the time for shorting IMO. So basically I agree with everyone on this thread: a) first we are going much much higher, higher than probably even the internut fanatics dared dream, and then b) time for penitence and repentence. As a guess, maybe we go up another 15-20% in the next 6 weeks and then correct back 10%. But right now shorts will get absolutely massacred unless they are quick daytraders or stick to the sick and the wounded. Anyone shorting the hi-techs and the internet hi-flyers will be promptly executed. I no longer think 10K will provide much resistance here. Maybe we go to 11K and then correct back near 10K but the bulls are definitely in control. Why would anyone want to be short anyway during the January rally? January is always just about the strongest month of the year. March-April is a much better time. And remember anything with a p/e under 100 is dirt cheap 8>).
