Bill,

The cartridge business is what makes inkjets worthwhile. For the same reason, HP pursues licensing agreements to put cartridges in other people's printers. Gives other manufacturers an easier entry into the market (by using an "industry standard" cartridge), and retains lots of long-term earnings for HP.

Bill,

HWP and MOT are in fierce competition, for the worst managed high tech company of the decade. I thought MOT was ahead but with Apollo, HWP might have regained top honors. Whats the point? They are going to create a line to cannibalize the strongest part of their business?
