<<The snow drifts in Illinois are legendary. I grew up in rural northern Illinois and recall 6 to 10 feet drifts from measly 6 inch snowfalls. Roads were like tunnels, the drifts were so high. One of the great thrills of my young life was crashing virgin snow drifts in 4 wheel drive vehicles with several of my friends. That and doing donuts in big empty parking lots. Alcohol was sometimes involved.>> God, you said it all. Wish I was 18 again. Well probably too much to ask to stay alive twice. Drifts, what glorious drifts, the wind is the secret.
