Thread: How many WSTL modems?

from xDSL reflector:

Total Bell Atlantic Hhlds: 20.0M
Based on a "straight-line" distance to the CO analysis (done at the CO
level), total households served by distance are:
5K ft: 6.8 M Hhlds (34%)
6K ft: 8.4 M Hhlds (42%)
7K ft: 9.8 M Hhlds (49%)

If BEL installs (pick a random big number) 1M DSL lines in 1999,
how many of these will use WSTL modems?

Complex question, I know ...

I'm looking for a read on the relationship, supplier options, WSTL capacity, etc, etc.

Take your best shot!
