Wit Capital is taking orders at the offering price for the MarketWatch IPO now, if you have an account with them (minimum is $1,000 I think).

May,

As I've been told, the DLJ IPO department is only given a small amount to offer to their "preferred" accounts. They try to distribute these shares in a fair manner so that all qualifying accounts can get some. I believe if a brokerage firm submits an indication of interest, they may receive some shares to dole out to their shareholders also. But I don't think a large amount of shares are allocated for purchase by shareholders at the IPO price...otherwise, the price would not go up much at the opening. Perhaps the MMs get the majority of shares, to have them avail. for trade. JMHO.

Good luck
KS

May -- you need 100K in assets, not equity. And the max is 300 shares.
