I have read my notes since 1995 and noticed a 1997 note where the CEO told me Madera being on of the few fully licensed company authorized to harvest lumber. Somewhere close to the Mill is a auction house where Madera buys logs very cheap and floats then to there mill,, conserving their own assets. You have to have a license to do this. He said Madera could operate at a profit doing this (buying at auction) and selling milled lumber on the world market.. He said , you see I do not need the land to make a profit.
