How is the Dow related? Yesterday, SUF added 75 cents or almost 9%. Maybe SUF doesn't trade with the blue chip industrials just yet ;). How come every time the stock goes up a touch, and then holds or comes back a bit, someone thinks something is up? No news, Q4 and FY98 in mid February, but hopefully production reports in the next while. Great news at Klipspringer with likely reserve expansion at Marsfontein, bad news in Angola (but almost zero value for Angolan assets at present prices), drills gonna turn up north (not quite as fast as KLA thinks), plus lots of other neat things like the rumoured platinum, possible JVs with starving juniors, etc. Seems very likely that some people who've been trading the stock in the past few sessions (check the volume) booked short profits. Or maybe selling $7 stock from a few weeks ago. Or $9 is a resistance level as some technical folks tell me. Or some guy is grumpy because SUF won't fast track auctioning Diamonds over the internet at SouthernEra.com ;) I believe we've just witnessed the second quarter of production from a company that had a horrible first half of '98, but a remarkable second half. I think earnings will be well over $1.00 after tax for FY98 (4 months production), with FY99 looking nicely over $2.00, reserve expansion, added production, potential if Angola settles, a team of hungry elephant hunters ready to find the source of the best indicator mineral chemistry in the NWT (all they have to do is find the pipe), plus, plus .... I think SUF will make new highs ($20.80+) in 1999. Why fret over one day/week/month after the ordeal of early 1998? Its time to get excited again!
