I think there is more agreement with you, than you might think. Certainly XOMA has performed poorly, unless you bought it at $2 or $3. Yes, it has been worse than dead money. Yes, buying on a breakout seems like a better strategy than loading up before it moves. The only disagreement is on what level presently is a resistance level. I think it used to be $8 1/2 but now I would think it's a lot lower. Perhaps a close above 5 1/2 would constitute a breakout with other resistance levels before reaching the old 8 1/2 area.
