Thanks for the good tutorial. Only comment I have is the list of shorts is the list of nasdaq stock shorts. CPQ, on NYSE, has around 2x million short.
Regards,
Satish

Just thought I would let you know that I am once again playing lhsg. Looking at the chart it is touching the upper bollinger band and also at the tope of a declining trading range with the trend being down. Not that I am bearish, but some stocks will decline even in a bullish market. This said, it appears that lhsg presents an excellent bear trap once again.

just my opinion. good luck

I can't help but notice the high premiums for puts on some of the high flyers. And, since I am a contrarian, I am looking to the short side more again as I think we a re nearing a short term to intermediate term top. The market internals are starting to fail, although they are still positive. For the strong move today, you would think that advancers outnumbered decliners by a large margin. NOT so, as it was only by a 1.5 to 1 ratio.

So here we go again, while I am still net long, it is once again time to beware of the bear. As we have seen before, it comes fast.

One to watch is dell. It might be worth playing a straddle on it since it is very likely that it will have a substantial move soon.

just my opinion. good luck

Herm, I understand what short selling is but never thought about applying short selling interest knowledge to my trades.

Where can I get list of short interest?

I am a position trader and do appreciate your providing me insight on how short interest and the VIX are used to improve entry/exit.(just got to reread McMillian and figure out now what I'm really looking for in the VIX)
