No one I know can afford a full T-1 line for themselves. When they have access, they are sharing it with a lot of other people. Also, you probably have to use an ethernet connection to a T-1, so your speed is limited by your ethernet access. Cable access speed is also limited by the ethernet connection. The cable modem has a cable input and an ethernet output. It takes me about 45 seconds to download a 23MB file via my cable modem.
