Tuesday January 12, 11:15 am Eastern Time Company Press Release Global MAINTECH Inks $4.8 Million Deal with Insurance Giant MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 12, 1999--Global MAINTECH Corporation (OTC-BB: GLBM - news) announced today that it has signed a $4.8 million services contract with a major U.S. insurance company through its subsidiary, Singlepoint Systems according to David McCaffrey, CEO of Global MAINTECH. The contract, with the insurance company which has over $25 billion in assets, extends into the year 2000. The deal represents an amount that approximates nearly all of MAINTECH's reported nine-month sales in 1998. ''Our expertise in the arena of enterprise management is a good match for this forward-looking insurance giant,'' McCaffrey said. ''We are helping them take the next step in restructuring and advancing their IT operations.'' The deal calls for providing services to aid the customer in deploying and implementing console management and other operating efficiencies within their operations. James Geiser, CFO of Global MAINTECH, added, ''This very dramatic service contract, when added to our other, high-margin maintenance contracts, gives us contracts into the year 2000 totaling an amount very similar in magnitude to our expected entire 1998 sales. Not only do these contracts indicate that we are delivering expertise which is well received by IT operations, but they give a hint of our potential for growth.'' The VCC is the focal point in MAINTECH's suite of systems and network management software products for data centers. The VCC is a master console that provides simultaneous control, operation and monitoring for mainframe, midrange, UNIX, Microsoft NT and networks. It is able to respond to messages, events and alerts of a computer enterprise at a single location. Additional products in the MAINTECH suite include enterprise system services and event notification software, sold through the Singlepoint Systems subsidiary, as well as network and systems management software sold through the Magnum Technologies name.
