About building a trading station... if anyone wants to add some comments bring them on!

When putting together a trading station; consider your internet connection.

If you plan on utilizing a plain old 56k dialup, i would suggest devoting two phone lines to the job and buying two computers both with the biggest monitors you can justify buying

17" is bare minimum, 19 maybe priced nicely and 21" would prolly be smart.

the reason i say two pooters is you could use two "off the shelf" middle of the road computers that are pretty dern cheap.

this is how i USED to do it.

now i am going a different route

56k modems were not cutting it for me because of the quality of the copper lines running out to the farm house here.

i could barely get 28kbs out of a phone line )c:

so i went to ISDN. i waited WAY too long to do this upgrade!

so now i have a pretty hot connection and it is very stable i could network multiple boxes and some day i am sure i will... but

the plan of attack now is to go with a fast processor 450mhz plenty of ram atleast 128 megs and three monitors. I happen to own a 19 and two 17's.

Two different approaches, but either way, i think if you are serious about it, you need more than one screen for all you want to do.

Realtick will easily fill a 19 or 21 inch screen. then you will want to check on two or three web sites during the course of the day. you prolly will have a chat channel or two open during trading hours

I just got going with the Hunter Tools that come free with MB trading, so there is a little more screen space needed.

Luckily you can keep buying more stuff and adding onto your trading station. No matter how you approach it, it should be a work in progress.

good luck
